Dr. Elias J. Michael
Dr. Elias J. Michael is a board certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon. He completed his dermatology residency at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. Prior to his residency Dr. Michael did extensive research into the molecular biology of keratinocytes (skin cells) during his fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he received several honors and awards. He currently is an Associate Clinical professor of Dermatology at Columbia University and is an Attending Physician at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt and Beth Israel Hospitals in Manhattan. He has been in practice in SOHO for the last several years and now has launched his solo practice with the opening of SOHO Dermatology & health.
In addition to Dr. Michael’s professional interests, he has long been a supporter of the arts, and especially of young artists struggling to forge a name for themselves in a fiercely competitive field. With the opening of SOHO Dermatology & Health, he visualized a space that could fit a dual role, though both these roles revolve around an appreciation of, and ability in, the aesthetic. Thus, the SOHO D&H Gallery was born. SOHO D&H Gallery is a venue where young artists can exhibit their works in an otherwise inaccessible environment; where the passion for art rules, and dictates what works can be experienced in SOHO.

Michelle Nordberg
Michelle Luhan Nordberg is a registered dietitian (RD) who received her Master’s degree in Food Science and Clinical Nutrition from New York University and completed her clinical practice at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. Before going into private practice, Michelle worked as an in-patient nutritionist at NYU Medical Center and then as head of out-patient nutrition services at Beth Israel Medical Center’s Center for Cardiac and Pulmonary Health.
In addition to her private practice, Michelle continues to work with local businesses and schools lecturing and developing wellness policies; sometimes revamping school cafeterias entirely. Private clients seeking Michelle’s services are often amazed by how simple and yet effective her teachings are. As a mother of two, Michelle is a strong proponent of early childhood nutrition and education, especially since so many chronic diseases stem from poor nutrition as a kid. Raised in a European household where packaged foods were scarce, Michelle borrows a great deal from traditional diets and holistic modalities.
Michelle speaks several languages and is a fan of the arts, cooking and traveling. Her professional affiliations include the Greater NY Dietetic Association, the NY Coalition for Health School Lunches, the American Dietetic Association and Slow Foods. She is a licensed nutritionist in the state of New York and accepts private insurance.
